Our Story
EC Design and Construction LLC was founded by Abimael Cabrera Zuñiga and operates out of Clifton, NJ. We're a young company by the calendar, but the trades behind it aren't new to us — remodeling, masonry, flooring, roofing, pavers and finish work are all things this crew has been doing on northern New Jersey properties for years, first for other builders and now under our own name.
Almost all of our work so far has come from referrals — one neighbor telling another. That shapes how we operate. When your next job depends on the last homeowner being willing to recommend you, you don't cut corners on the parts nobody sees: the compacted base under a patio, the drainage behind a retaining wall, the prep under a coat of paint, the flashing detail on a roof.
We take on projects of every size — a single bathroom, a paver walkway, a full interior renovation, a ground-up build. We work english & spanish, we're on the job monday – saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and we're closed Sunday. Everything we build here has to survive freeze-and-thaw cycles, ice at the roof edge, and ground that moves every winter. That's why a patio from us gets an excavated and compacted stone base rather than a quick sand bed, why a retaining wall gets drainage stone and a drain pipe behind it, and why a roof gets its flashing and underlayment details done properly instead of quickly. The parts you can't see are the ones that decide how long the parts you can see will last.
